WHITEOUT: Clarity

The Transfiguration

28 Now about eight days after these sayings he took with him Peter and John and James and went up on the mountain to pray. 29 And as he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became dazzling white. 30 And behold, two men were talking with him, Moses and Elijah, 31 who appeared in glory and spoke of his departure, [2] which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem. 32 Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they became fully awake they saw his glory and the two men who stood with him. 33 And as the men were parting from him, Peter said to Jesus, “Master, it is good that we are here. Let us make three tents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah”—not knowing what he said. 34 As he was saying these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 35 And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, my Chosen One; [3] listen to him!”

ONEthought: When the electrifying beauty of Jesus is all we see, the truth is astoundingly clear...

True Worship

Job 1

20 Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped. 21 And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

22 In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.

That "in all this" is only referring to the situation Job (out of nowhere) found himself in- the instant where news broke to him that he had lost his: oxen donkeys servants sheep camels sons and daughters...

What is your response to the great and terrible things in life?

We should pray, that like Job, we would have such a perspective on it all that we cling to truth and worship God for who He is.

ONEthought: God is always worthy of worship, whatever comes your way in this life...

FOREVER It's You & Me

Psalm 63
1
O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.
3 Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
4 So I will bless you as long as I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands.

Isn't Scripture just totally refreshing? Read the above again. Dwell on some of the key words or phrases...

ONEthought:
Do we long for God as a necessity (as we do air, water, food, and relationships)?
